This Is Not Normal

As a British person of a generally liberal persuasion, the choice of who is to be made the President of the United States is generally none of my business.

Something, however, is not right here. It’s not normal for a President to appoint fascist to key positions within his transition team, or to install his adult children into positions of power. It’s normal for the US president to threaten to cut off NATO, or for a presidential candidate to encourage hostile foreign agencies to hack into the data of his opponents. It’s not normal for the US president to prioritise meetings with politicians from the fringes of British politics over meetings with the Prime Minister.

As I said before, as a British person none of this really has anything to do with me. It’s up to you to decide whether you accept it and, if not, it’s up to you to do something about it. I can only tell you, from a detached foreign perspective, that this is not normal.
